Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA)
This course will review how a facility can conduct a hazard vulnerability analysis, the recommended requirements for follow up, and how to utilize the HVA in future emergency preparedness/continuity planning.

Exercise Planning/Documentation/AAR/IP
This course will review how to develop an exercise and training plan to meet the requirements of CMS. It will include a review of the documents/templates that can be used to create an exercise as well as discuss the required documents necessary for follow up after completion of the exercise. Exercises can be beneficial to highlight best practices as well as to identify gaps in planning.

E-TAGS/TEMPLATES/MDH TOOLKIT Review/EOP UPDATE
This course will review the current CMS requirements for the long term care facility emergency operations plans – to include a review of the most frequent E-tag citations and a discussion about tools and resources available to assist facilities in maintaining their plans.

HERT
FEMA Healthcare Emergency Response Team (HERT) Training – Certificate awarded upon completion
We’re holding HERT training for anybody who wishes to attend multiple times per year. The training occurs online, and we’ll have morning (8 to 10 a.m.) and evening (8 to 10 p.m.) options.
Topics include the following:
- The National Response Framework (NRF) & Hospital Incident Command (HICS)
- Health Effects of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, & Explosive (CBRNE) Agents
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Triage & Life Saving Interventions – S.A.L.T.
- Emergency Treatment Areas (ETA)
- Team Accountability & Staffing the Lanes
- Hospital Decontamination Procedures
Your commitment will be a total of eight hours, spread out over four days: Monday thru Thursday.
Classes are held annually in:
January, March, August, & October
